Mother's Day 2023
The hardest part of leaving Georgia was knowing how badly I would miss my mom. There was a time when all we had in life was God and each other. I’m actually really thankful for those early days. Not just because of the lessons I learned by watching you overcoming adversity, or the strength I gained watching you being faithful and fearless, but mostly because of just how close we became and have stayed. I’ve always loved this picture of us, because it was about the time I realized I was finally becoming the man I knew you raised me to be. You taught me to be cool, kind, respectful and loving, but also to stand my ground. You taught me to serve. You taught me to seek God. You were and are an excellent mom, and for a long time you did the best you could to also fill the shoes of a dad that I needed so badly. Thank you for all of your sacrifices. Thank you for everything. There’s no way I can honor you sufficiently today, so I’ll just end by saying that I love you tremendously, think about you and pray for you almost every day, and I look forward to seeing you again more than just about anything. I love you Mom. Happy Mother’s Day!
