A beautiful paradox
Something to keep in mind as this world gets crazier and end time chaos increases: God really really loves us. It’s a beautiful paradox really. He is perfect and though we are made in His image we are terribly weak and this flesh is wickedly selfish. Based in His standard of holiness we should have no place with Him. But that’s the thing. We have such a pitiful understanding of holiness and true righteousness. Only a perfect creator could love us a in spite of how dissimilar and rebellious we choose to be. He has a perfect plan. He loves us so much that He designed the perfect way to allow us to have free will and have the honor of choosing Him and crucifying our own flesh and striving and persisting and finishing the race and being welcomed into His arms in VICTORY. Such an incomprehensible and immeasurable honor. Our time here is so short. We need only persist for a little while. But the honor and love and intimacy and blessings we receive will last for eternity. I find myself often echoing the sentiment of this song. Lord I’m so small and pitiful. Thank you for forgiving me. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to bring glory to your name in whatever meager way I am able. Anything good in me is You. I want more of You. I thank you for the closeness I know already, and my greatest desire is to know you more and spend even more time in your presence.
“I just want to be with you, Lord”
.
The real shocker is, He really just wants to be with us too. So much so that He was willing to create this place where He could suffer terribly and die on a cross for us, just so we could find our way home. The present sufferings in no way compare to what He has in store for those who love Him. Be encouraged and finish strong church. Our redemption draweth nigh.
Psalm 8
King James Version
8 O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
