To obey is better than sacrifice
To obey is better than sacrifice.
You can’t obey if you’re not actively, diligently, seeking His will. You have to know His word, know His character, know His touch, and know His voice in order to know His will. It’s an ongoing journey and looks different from day to day.
If you are truly seeking Him and His righteousness first above all things, He will be faithful to lead you and guide you. It won’t be in the same way each time but He will be faithful to see you through until the end whether that’s when you die or when He returns. It may not always be convenient or pleasurable. But the important thing at the end is to hear “well done good and faithful servant”. Every other goal and anything that distracts you from obedience to the Father is the flesh, corrupted, foul, and damnable.
He is good. Seek Him. Listen and obey. Increasingly as the day approaches we will need to rely more and more on faith and less on our 5 fleshly senses and prior knowledge. There may be times you are to say “yes”, or “no” and it doesn’t make sense at all in the flesh. If you are abiding you will find peace to know which steps to take and which ones to avoid.
Seriously this is everything. Yes read your Bible, yes serve others, yes try to live a holy life. But if you’re not seeking and hearing from the Father at least periodically along the way then something is off and it’s probably that a lack of obedience somewhere is blocking the relationship. Obedience is the key to abiding in His shadow to unlock the promises of Psalm 91. Obedience is the way we stay connected to the vine. Obedience is how our earthen vessels are purged and made useable (anointed) for kingdom assignments. There will be some similarities among believers of course but there will also be countless ways that your walk is unique to you. The only way to know you are using the talents given to you in a way that is pleasing to the master is to spend enough time with Him that you know how he wants you to invest it for Him ie how to truly represent Him each day in His physical absence.
Be obedient. Everything depends on it
