Happy Juneteenth!
Happy Juneteenth!
While I am staunchly patriotic, we cannot deny that our great nation has a long list of terrible sins, one of (if not clearly the worst of) which being human slavery. It’s been 159 years since Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the American Civil War on 06/19/1865. Since then we’ve healed tremendously as a nation and corrected many of our wrongs. But the wound, while bandaged and covered, has not yet completely healed. Sadly there are those who continue to pick at and aggravate this wound from time to time so that it cannot heal fully. Frustratingly we tend to see an increase of these intentional re-openings of healing wounds during election years by those who seek to maintain and increase their power over the common class. I hope we will be spared from these evils this year. But if not, I hope that no matter what color you are, you recognize these powerful manipulation tactics for what they are, continue to stand righteously for judgement and equality, and resist the temptation to believe lies and perpetuate evil upon your neighbor.
I’m thankful for the progress we’ve made, and I hate that things are not yet perfect. I must remind this great nation that in spite of our most diligent efforts, things will not be right and there will not be perfect justice until Jesus returns.
Days worse than the world has ever known are fast approaching. Don’t give your agreement when the wicked globalists try to put the races against each other inciting civil war. Don’t hope in governmental institutions to make everything right. Don’t believe the new global leader when he promises peace and safety if you just receive his mark. It will damn you to hell. Instead, repent of your sins and submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Those people whom He chose and allowed to suffer terrible persecution will be priests and kings in the world to come.
Until then, let us all continue to stand for what’s right and endure our present sufferings with grace, maturity, and joy. Praise the Lord for the emancipation of slaves in our country. Father forgive us for our sins. Wash us in Your blood and make us clean. And please bless and anoint us to do our part to continue to set the captives free, in Jesus’ name AMEN.
